Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, March 12, 2007
Page 14

Councilmember Pust requested a clarification of the number of cars going
through the Starbucks drive-thru.

Mr. Paschke advised that the staff report addressed those items earlier identi-
fied by the Council and public for additional information, with the exception
of traffic on Fairview A venue. Mr. Paschke advised that he was willing to
provide any additional information requested by the City Council on this
file.

Mayor Klausing suggested that if neighbors had particular concerns that
needed further information to be provided by staff, that they provide those
information requests to the City Councilor staff prior to the next meeting to
allow for better discussion and public policy decisions.

Mr. Paschke provided clarification to Councilmember Pust's request for the
actual number of vehicles going through the existing Starbucks drive-thru on
the north side of Highway 36; with rationale and interpretation of the peak
hour study times, determining why more vehicles were entering than were
exiting, with some having been on site prior to the time frame or sharing
trips to other retail uses on the site. Consider Appointment to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
(BRA)
Mayor Klausing reviewed the appointment process, pursuant to State Stat-
ute, for filling vacancies on the Housing and Redevelopment Authority
(HRA), noting that it was a mayoral appointment, subject to City Council
approval. Mayor Klausing noted that he had been open to Council members
suggesting an open application process, similar to other commission vacan-
cies; however recognized that Mr. Maschka was currently serving on the
HRA and was seeking reappointment, following the expiration of his Coun-
