Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
Monday, April 23, 2007
Page 17

Mr. Moy responded by opining that he'd never seen the jump used ei-
ther; but further opined that the existence on the lake of the jump and
slalom course only encouraged excessive boat traffic.

Councilmember Pust clarified that Mr. Moy's concerns were with wa-
ter skiers, not the jump itself.

Mr. Moy responded affirmatively.

Catherine M. Vanous, 2924 W Owasso Boulevard
Ms. Vanous, a resident since 1983, responded to a previous question
about the current location of the ski jump and slalom course and
whether there was any option for moving the course, for public infor-
mation and awareness. Ms. Vanous noted that this had been discussed
by the Lake Owasso Task Force approximately ten years ago, and it
was determined that moving the course to the narrow (south) end of
the lake would create a serious safety issue.

Ms. Vanous questioned who regulated the hours of operation; opining
that 7:00 a.m. as noted by the previous speaker was quite early for
those living on the lake.

Mayor Klausing asked staff to report back to the City Council after
determining who regulated hours for operating on the lake in various
capacities.

Mayor Klausing referenced an e-mail, in support of the application,
from Margaret F. Moismann, 393 S Owasso Boulevard.

Mayor Klausing referenced an e-mail fromBenjaminA.Seim. 513
Heinel Drive, in opposition to the application.

Joe Bester, 460 W Horseshoe Drive
Mr. Bester, speaking on behalf of the Lake Owasso Safe Boating As-
sociation, observed that the lake received extensive use, but was
posted for use from sunrise to sunset; and while he didn't personally
advocate those hours of operation, was unaware of any regulations
stopping such use, whether a lakeshore resident, or accessing the lake
via public access facilities.
