Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, June 11,2007
Page 16

A draft of the proposed tri-fold brochure was displayed for Council
and public review.

Councilmember Roe highlighted several proposed products, specifi-
cally the creation of a Power Point presentation for staff and City
Council use in making presentations to community organizations in an
effort to keep the vision alive in the community. Councilmember Roe
noted the need to keep a common and consistent visual theme
throughout all visual aids (i.e., color schemes, type face, and logo);
and the preference that the annual recognition and report card be more
than just an annual report at a Council meeting.

Councilmember Pust emphasized the citizen-driven visioning process
to-date and the need to continue to reflect that by use of a citizen
group taking the lead, including the communication plan. Council-
member Pust noted the projected staff time outlined, and her intent
that staff was not being asked to perform those tasks; noting that these
are ideas, but not determined, but representing a dynamic, living proc-
ess.

Councilmember Roe concurred with the need for an ongoing citizen
advisory group related specifically to the Roseville vision.

Mayor Klausing expressed concern about putting too many resources
into telling people what was being done, rather than in accomplishing
the goals with those resources. Mayor Klausing recognized the need
to keep educating the community about the process; however ques-
tioned benefits to be gained by such activities as inviting the Steering
Committee to distribute stickers at the Rose Parade.

Councilmember Pust advised that brainstorming ideas, such as the
stickers, had initiated discussion; and the original intent had been to
honor the expertise ofthe Steering Committee and expand that group.

Councilmember Roe concurred that the purpose of the stickers was to
keep the visioning process before the public; and take the opportunity
to reach out at such a well-attended event, reminding people of what
had been accomplished to-date, and drawing them to the City's web-
site to keep them engaged.
