Regular City Council Meeting
Monday, June 11,2007
Page 19

Mr. Callaghan concurred, and opined that neighborhoods needed to be
identified and preserved, and not viewed as simplistically as the report
indicated.

Vivian Ramalingam, 2182 Acorn Road, and a member of the Citi-
zen Advisory Group (CAG)
Ms. Ramalingam assured Mr. Callaghan that an affected property
owner had been on the CAG.

Ms. Ramalingam noted that she had signed the recommendations pre-
sented by Ms. McGehee, primarily due to recommendation #3 regard-
ing public hearing requirements, noting her past concerns regarding
such notice.

Ms. Ramalingam concurred with Ms. Shaffer's comments regarding
the need for more discussion than was represented in the CAG report,
recognizing the problem to make them succinct enough for the City
Council to work with; however, opining the fine detailed discussions
and context would be beneficial, and could be provided separately.

Ms. Ramalingam addressed several personal observations related to
new houses facing the street and the purpose of such a recommenda-
tion; and observations on Acorn Road with bicycle traffic and reason-
able traffic speeds and lack of visibility for bicycle traffic.

Ms. Ramalingam expressed hope that the City Council would consider
developing these considerations and accept more observations from
the CAG.

Councilmember Pust questioned if Ms. Ramlingam was supportive,
through her signature on the recommendations, of those four recom-
mendations that were in direct conflict with the consensus-supported
recommendations of the CAG.

Ms. Ramlingam opined that the primary recommendation (#4) of Ms.
McGehee's recommendations related to lot sizes no smaller than av-
erage contiguous lots, and a sliding scale could be very cumbersome;
and put herself on the side of Mr. Callaghan's comments.
