<br />Regular City Council Meeting <br />Monday, June 11,2007 <br />Page 26 <br /> <br />could determine if they wanted to allow time for additional public <br />comment. <br /> <br />City Attomey Anderson further noted that, while it was a City Council <br />policy decision, there was nothing in land EQB rules requiring a pub- <br />lic hearing on the EA W; noting that it was anticipated that interested <br />parties would provide public comment during the EA W public com- <br />ment period, as so noticed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan questioned if the City Council had sought input <br />from the City's Public Works, Environment, and Transportation <br />(PWET) Commission on the EA W since it had been published; and <br />opined that it would be beneficial to have their review over the next <br />month, along with their comments and recommendations. <br /> <br />Mr. Stark advised that he would confer with the Public Works staff <br />and report back to the City Council on involvement of the PWET. <br /> <br />City Planner Thomas Paschke advised that staff would like to know <br />definitely whether the Council planned to hold another Public Hear- <br />ing, to allow adequate time for required published and mailed notice, <br />in consideration of the upcoming RoseFest schedule and July 4th holi- <br />day. Mr. Paschke noted that the Planning Commission had held a <br />Public Hearing already, but if the City Council so desired to hold an- <br />other Public Hearing, staff would like to be made aware of that provi- <br />sion at tonight's meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan advised that her main objective was to provide <br />opportunity for the public to give input on this issue, and opined that <br />she was not concerned about whether a formal Public Hearing was <br />held, or simply public comment with normal notification procedures. <br /> <br />Mr. Paschke sought clarification on Councilmember Ihlan's request to <br />allow for appropriate notice. <br /> <br />Councilmember Ihlan noted that the public comment period was on- <br />going through June 20th; that the City's website had information on <br />the issue; and encouraged the public to provide comment in writing <br />
