<br />6. Directional Signs: Directional signs may be incorporated into a development <br />including information such as traffic directions, house numbers, management <br />office location or other information necessary to direct persons to facilities or <br />areas within the development; provided however, that such signs shall not exceed <br />41/2 square feet in size and 6 feet in height and are not closer than 1 foot from a <br />public street right of way. Off site directional signs are prohibited. <br /> <br />7. Flags <br /> <br />8. Garage/Yard Sale Signs: The sign shall only be displayed during the term of the <br />sale and must be removed when the sale is completed. <br /> <br />9. Holiday signs may be displayed over a period not to exceed a total of 60 days per <br />calendar year. The aggregate total area of such signs shall not exceed 50 square <br />feet. <br /> <br />10. Political signs to the extent that the following criteria are met: <br /> <br />a. In years when a state general election is held, political signs may be posted <br />from August 1 until 10 days following the state general election. Any such <br />signs must be removed by those responsible for their being posted. <br /> <br />b. In years when no state general election is held, if there is a primary for any <br />office, political signs for all offices may be posted no more than 21days <br />before the primary election. When there is no primary for any office, such <br />signs may be posted not more than 21 days before the general election. All <br />such signs must be removed by those responsible for their being posted <br />within 5 days following the general election. Said political signs shall not <br />exceed 12 square feet gross area. <br /> <br />c. Political signs shall be set back at least 15 feet from the outside edge of <br />any street or back of curb of all city and county streets. <br /> <br />d. Political signs shall not be placed so as to cause a hazard to public safety. <br /> <br />e. Political signs shall not be placed on any property without permission of <br />the property owner. <br /> <br />f. Political signs shall not be located on any city owned property. <br /> <br />g. Signs in violation of the above provisions may be removed by city staff <br />and stored for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, unclaimed signs will be disposed of <br />by the city. <br /> <br />- 12 - <br />
