Goals & Priorities <br />The Community Developments long-term goals and priorities have been established in <br />conjunction with IR2025, City Council Goals, and the Departments mission and overall vision. <br />The City Council established its Goals earlier this year and will have significant influence on the <br />development of the Departments Strategic Plan. In total, there were eight City Council Goals <br />that were applicable to this Plan. They include: <br /> <br />City Council Goals <br /> <br />Modify and update City Code to be in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Strategically look at the Citys role in fostering the redevelopment of Twin Lakes. <br /> <br />Create a comprehensive economic development policy and mission and dedicate <br />resources and staff to support existing businesses within Roseville as well as markets the <br />community to attract new businesses. <br /> <br />Create incentives to foster redevelopment of underutilized properties and to eradicate <br />high-crime concentrations. <br /> <br />Engage industry experts to identify programs and amenities necessary for future cities to <br />remain vibrant in the future (i.e. long-term planners, retail experts, housing and <br />transportation officials). <br /> <br />Support a diversified economy with a variety of employment opportunities and head of <br />household wage jobs. <br /> <br />Build effective partnerships with the private sector to utilize new urban design concepts. <br /> <br />Continue to lobby for the Northeast Diagonal transportation corridor. <br /> <br />Based on these items as well as the Departments own objectives, the Community Development <br />Departments Goals & Priorities are shown below. <br /> <br /> <br />Community Development Department Goals & Priorities: <br /> <br />1)Review and update to ensure that they are <br /> Department Policies and Procedures <br /> <br />meeting the needs of the departments, the City as an organizatioizens <br /> <br />of Roseville. <br /> <br />2)Improveof all files and <br /> Records Management and Information Tracking <br />correspondence to ensure easy and efficient access to informatio <br />3)Improve and i to allow for a better <br /> Public and Community Outreach <br />ncrease <br />understanding of the Citys processes and decisions. <br />4)Implement after a thorough review of department <br />Department Modernization <br />procedures and equipment. <br />5)Undertake a review of the departments and implement <br />Organizational Structure <br />to ensure that the departments services are delivered effectiveficiently. <br />Create opportunities and provide resources for department person <br />6) <br /> <br />Professional Development. <br /> <br />Promote innovative and sustainable to ensure <br />7) Land Use Practices and Regulations <br /> <br />that the community needs are being met. <br /> <br />8) <br />Partner with Roseville business community and external entities <br /> <br />through expansion of existing businesses and attraction of <br />Diverse Local Economy <br /> <br />desirable and needed businesses. <br />20 <br /> <br />
