Goals & Priorities The Community Developments long-term goals and priorities have been established in conjunction with IR2025, City Council Goals, and the Departments mission and overall vision. The City Council established its Goals earlier this year and will have significant influence on the development of the Departments Strategic Plan. In total, there were eight City Council Goals that were applicable to this Plan. They include: City Council Goals Modify and update City Code to be in compliance with the Comprehensive Plan. Strategically look at the Citys role in fostering the redevelopment of Twin Lakes. Create a comprehensive economic development policy and mission and dedicate resources and staff to support existing businesses within Roseville as well as markets the community to attract new businesses. Create incentives to foster redevelopment of underutilized properties and to eradicate high-crime concentrations. Engage industry experts to identify programs and amenities necessary for future cities to remain vibrant in the future (i.e. long-term planners, retail experts, housing and transportation officials). Support a diversified economy with a variety of employment opportunities and head of household wage jobs. Build effective partnerships with the private sector to utilize new urban design concepts. Continue to lobby for the Northeast Diagonal transportation corridor. Based on these items as well as the Departments own objectives, the Community Development Departments Goals & Priorities are shown below. Community Development Department Goals & Priorities: 1)Review and update to ensure that they are Department Policies and Procedures meeting the needs of the departments, the City as an organizatioizens of Roseville. 2)Improveof all files and Records Management and Information Tracking correspondence to ensure easy and efficient access to informatio 3)Improve and i to allow for a better Public and Community Outreach ncrease understanding of the Citys processes and decisions. 4)Implement after a thorough review of department Department Modernization procedures and equipment. 5)Undertake a review of the departments and implement Organizational Structure to ensure that the departments services are delivered effectiveficiently. Promote innovative and sustainable to ensure 7) Land Use Practices and Regulations that the community needs are being met. 8) Partner with Roseville business community and external entities through expansion of existing businesses and attraction of Diverse Local Economy desirable and needed businesses. 20
