ReferraI to Advisory Commission — Conseder Referring `�Wel- <br />come to Roseville" Signs Project to the Appropriate Advisory <br />Commission{s) <br />Mayor Klausing invited Mr. Myllenbeck to speak, to continue discus- <br />sions originally begun by Councilmember Kough. <br />Mr. Myllenbeck provided a bench handout for distribution. <br />16 Wal�y Myllenbecli, 778 Grandview Avenue W <br />17 Mr. Myllenbeck advised thai he was the President of the Roseville <br />�8 Lion's Club and was here tonight speaking on behalf of the Roseville <br />19 Lion's Club, Rotary, Kiwanis, V.F.W., Golden K Kiwanis and Ameri- <br />2� can Legion service clubs. <br />21 <br />22 Mr. Myllenbeck read one of the goal statements of �he Imagine Rose- <br />23 ville 2025 community visioning process regarding making Roseville a <br />24 welcoming community and challenged the community and City <br />25 Council to "prove it." Mr. Myllenbeck encouraged erecting foux wel- <br />26 come signs at the City's four boundaries so people knew where they <br />27 were when they entered the community. Mr. Myl�enbeck proposed a <br />28 sign similar to the one designed for Central Park with a display board <br />29 at the bottom of the sign for the emblems of the f ve service clubs <br />30 {Rotary, Kiwanis, Lion's American Legion and V.F.W.). Mr. <br />31 Myllenbeck advised that the clubs would furnish the logos, attach <br />32 them and maintain them. Mr. Myllenbeck further suggested that in <br />33 addition to "Welcome to Rosevil�e" the signs should state "The City <br />34 of Roses," a£ormer slogan in the City and include a�arge, red rose to <br />35 se# off the sign. <br />36 <br />37 Mr. Myllenbeck indicated the rationale for proposing those five clubs <br />38 and provided a list o� just a portion of the community activities for <br />39 which the clubs had provided financial assistance, support or partici- <br />
