Mr. Myllenbeck asked that the City 3 Council move to put the procedure into action to facilitate the wel- 4 come signs with attached service organization logos as soon as possi- 5 ble. 5 7 Councilmember Kough thanked Mr. Myllenbeck for attending and 8 speaking tonight. Councilmember Kough noted that the V.F.W. was 9 in the process of changing Commanders and wanted to confirm their 10 commitment to the project. Councilmember Kough expressed interest ].1 in the proposed sign; however, fiirther noted that there was an inter- 12 ested party in the community who did brick work, and he'd like to be 13 involved and have brick involved in the signs. Councilmember 14 Kough noted issues to be considered: location, maintenance, replace- 15 ment of damaged signs or portions thereof and possible need for a 16 maintenance agreement. Councilmember Kough expressed his enthu- 17 siastic support of the welcome signag� and welcomed the gesture and 18 participation of the five service clubs. 19 20 Mr. Myllenbeck advised that since initial conversations with Coun- 21 cilmember Kough, some things had changed including the f nancial 22 and membership status of the participating clubs and fewer fundrais- 23 ing dollars. Mr. Myllenbeck advised that they could only provide the 24 logos, their �ttachment and their maintenance and other than those 25 items, the clubs could nat definitely commit to any other financial ob- 26 ligations at this time. 27 28 Councilmember Kough expressed his support for going forward at 29 this time by deczsion of the City Council and service clubs as to loca- 3o tion then seeing recommendation as io details from the City's Advi- 31 sory Commissions as applicable. 32 33 Councilmember Pust concurred with Councilmember Kough that it 34 was a great idea to install the signs and provided her fuli support for 35 doing so; however, she opined the issue should be sent to the Public 36 Woxks, Environment and Transportation (PWET) Commission for 37 their recommendation on the design to ensure consistency, determina- 38 tion of location and financial implications.
