Regular City Council Meeting <br />DRAFT Minutes of Monday, June 1S, 2007 <br />Page 10 <br />1 to participate financially and supported referring the proj ect to fhe <br />2 PV�TET for their recommendations to the City Council. <br />3 <br />4 Councilmember Ihlan supported �he City Council making a decision <br />5 prior to referring it to the PWET; specifically where the money was <br />6 going to come from for the signage and whether it should be included <br />7 in the 2Q08 budget. <br />8 <br />9 Councilmember Pusi concurred that the final decision needed to be <br />10 made by the City Council but opined that her decision would be based <br />11 on the details presented and recommendations of the various consid- <br />12 erations by the PWET that the City Council would need to make a de- <br />13 termination. <br />14 <br />15 Mr. Myllenbeck advised that the circumsta.nces of the clubs could <br />16 change in the future that might allow more financial participation by <br />17 them. <br />18 <br />19 Mayor Klausing spoke in support of the welcome signs and expressed <br />20 interest in moving forward. Mayor Klausing noied the need to discuss <br />21 funding and opined that this was an appropriate expenditure of public <br />22 funds; however, further opined that he didn't know if he could commit <br />23 to the signs until the cos#s and other details were known. Mayor <br />24 Klausing suggested thai other groups may be interested in funding the <br />25 signs as weli and further opined that the PWET was a great place to <br />2C start discussions. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Klausing suggested that the City Council needed to develop a <br />29 clear policy and have a procedure in place to determine what logos <br />30 andJor service organizations were included on the signage and rec- <br />3]. ommended that this would be another PWET discussion for recom- <br />32 mendation. <br />33 <br />34 Roe moved, Pust seconded, requesting the Public Works, Environ- <br />35 ment and Transportation {PWET) Commission to consider placing <br />36 "Welcome to Rosevil�e" signs within the City. <br />37 <br />38 Councilmembe:r Pust noted in addition to those items identified in the <br />39 sta�f report dated June 18, 2007, that PV�TET be encouraged to coordi- <br />
