City Coancxl Study 5ession Monday, July 16, 2007 Page 3 1 Mr. Neprash advised the City Council that he had comments to make 2 as a private citizen, not as a member of the City's Public Works, 3 Transportation and Environment Commission, on the Northwestern 4 College expansion and sought clarification as to when the City Coun- 5 cil would hear those comments. 6 7 Mayor Klausing noted that other than initial public comment on non- 8 agenda items, the City Council as a practice didn't hear public com- 9 ment on specific agenda items at Study Sessions in an effort to aliow 10 the Czty Council adequate discussion time wiih staf� However, � 1 Mayor Klausing noted that public comment would be heard at the up- 12 coming regular Council meeting where action would be taken on this 13 item. Mayor Klausing respectfully requested that Mr. Neprash pro- 14 vide his comments in writing by e-mail or letter to the Ci�ty Council`s 15 attention, with a staff copy, to allow adequate research and response. i� 17 Mr. Neprash advised he would do so; and also noted that he would be 1 S providing recommendations from the Public Works, Environment and ].9 Transportation Commission to the City Council at the upcoming 20 meeting also. 21 22 4. Joint CounciUCommission Meeting — Meeting with the Parks and 27 Recreation Commission 28 Chair Jeff Johnson spoke on behalf of the Commission and introduced 29 commissioners present. Parks & Recreation Commission members 30 present included: Harold Ristow, James Stark, Jeff Johnson, Robert 31 Willmus, Gaie Pederson, and Mark Kamrath. 32 33 Mayor Klausing complimented the Commission on the recent cere- 34 mony at Harriei Alexander Nature Center (HANC) for the vision- 35 impaired sculptures, and thanked the Commission for their work and 36 achievement. 37
