♦ In a maintenance shop at one side of the terminal, Williams carries <br />approximately 35, five-gallon buckets of foam producing material. <br />Inductors can be placed in these buckets to produce foam for fire <br />s�ppression. <br />♦ ln addition to foam chemicals, Williams has several sizes ofi Purple K fire <br />extinguishers. There are 30 Ib. hand held extinguishers and 35� Ib. <br />wheeled extinguishers at the terminal. These are suitabie for small spot <br />fires. <br />B, Loading Areas for Trucks <br />♦ Ai! oi the product stored at the Williams terminal is either sent elsewhere <br />by pipelines or is distributed locally to the surrounding area by tank <br />trucks. The tank truck bottom foading process is a 24 hour 7 days a week <br />operation. The loading area is new and is designed for safety. The <br />building is roofed but otherwise is open. A Purple K fire extinguisher <br />system is piped at floor level and overhead. It is triggered by overhead <br />infrared sensors. In addition, as trucks are filled, the vapors are removed <br />and combusted. <br />C. Pipelines, Figures 11, 13, and '14 <br />There are five active pipelines leaving the terminal area, pius fin+o six inch <br />pipelines that have been purged of product and decommissioned, i.e. no longer <br />in service. The active pipelines are as foilows: <br />♦ A 12-inch line (No. 4), buitt in the �950's traverses ihe center of Rosevifle <br />in an easterly direction to Newport, Minnesota. This line exits Rose�ille <br />about 2 blocks south of County Road C and Rice Street. The nearest <br />shut off vafves are at the terminal on one end, and Highways 36 and 6� in <br />the Menard's parking lot. This vakve is operated manually. The high <br />pressure cut oi# is 1000 pounds per square inch {psi) operating pressure <br />is 950 psi. <br />♦ An eight inch pipeline (No. 2}, traverses northerly from the terminal, <br />alongside the railroad track and exits Roseville at County Road D_ The <br />nearest valves on ihis line are at the termina! and in New Brighton at the <br />2 mile post_ The New Brighton valve is eEec#rically {motor) operated and is <br />located behind the New Brighton maintenance st�op_ This line to Duluth- <br />Superior was built in 1957; ii has a higt� pressure cut off of 925 psi and <br />- can be operated up to 875 psi. <br />3-7 <br />
