A large compost pzle exists on thc west side of the wetland basin. Compost piles can contribuie
a significant amount of nutrients to a wetland basin that can affect the wetland's plant
communities by promotin aggressivc species that are not susceptible to nutricnts. A review of
this site for water quality treatment should be completed to make sure appropriate treatment is
occurring prior to discharge to the wetland.
Commttnit Activif T'riari strzriated CusC ,.: Comments; `` ' "
::; X '   ;; '
_ _ _-
CP-W 1 Plant native Low $ lOQ0.00 - Enhance vegetative diversity
vegctation along $4,b00.00 and aesthetics aiong the
boardwalk depcnding on boardwalk
area of lanting
CP-W 1 Control reed Medium $2,000.00 - Herbicide treatment to set-back
canary grass $8,000.00 reed canary grass
CP-W 1 Install Medium $aQ0-5,00 This high profile area is a great
interpretive depending on place to instail an interpretive
sinage size, qvantity of siLn that explains purple
signagc and loosestrife and other invasive
matcrial vea. threatening wetlands.
CP-W 1 Review water High $1,500.00 Rcview of treatment of runoff
quality creatment from compost site
of compcst site
Community CP-W2
Shallow Marsh
Qualitative Rank: Medinm
Area: 2.5 acres
This is a narrov drainage channel that leads from a ditch and cuvert under Dale Street to an
outlet pipe at a;raveI access path. The open water areas near the cannel exhibits the most
diversity in this basin. Cattail, arrowhead, duckweed, lake sedge, wool grass, spike rush,
willows, and water plantain are the most noticeable. The m.ajority of the basin is a reed canary
grass rnonotype. This is the area that is only temporarily flooded as most normal flows are
confined to the channel.
The ouElet under the trail on west end of Ehis basin allows water levels in the wetiand to be
lowered. Currently the basin contains reed canary rass and draw down of the water levels in the
basin occurs between storm events. In order to control the recd canary grass, the water levels
will need to be maintained at 16-inches below top of trail outlet.
