To that end, rnembers of the <br />Departmeni wiil maice targeted and on-gaing efforts to identify, recruit, encourage, nurture and <br />select membecs of minority and protected classes to serve in the Department in both sworn and <br />civiiian positians. <br />I. Goal <br />� <br />To create a culturally rich and diverse Department refIecting thc diversity of the City's <br />residents and those w�o come to enjoy the City's wide array of services, shopping and <br />entertainment. <br />2. Ob'ectives to Meetin the Goal <br />Ti�is Depa.rtment wiii make the efforts described herein for the purposes of increasing the <br />number of minority and protected class ap�licants for swom positions, and increasing the <br />number of such applicants hired. <br />3. Im Iernentahon Pian <br />A• Irlenti rcntion o Poterrtial Job Crrndidr�tes <br />The Police Department is foriuna�e to have fairly extensive exgosure to potential job <br />candidates in the normai course of be�siness. These cantacts include schools, retail <br />centers and recreational areas.
