PROMOTIONS <br />Openings in non-entry level positions, except the positions of Deputy Chief of Police and <br />Chief of PoIice, shali be filled from promotion registers maintained for each rank �y the <br />Commission. Promotion registers shall contain the names of off cers of the Department �ta <br />who have successfully completed competitive exatninations �es�rag-�e <br />includ� a review f the c didate's r cord f effic'enc <br />c acter con uct an seni '. Nam hal be stricken from promotion registers after <br />o� years. <br />5. A PLICATIONS <br />a. AIl applications for employment or promotion must be filed on forms � <br />ap�roved by the Commission and within the time limits specified in the official <br />notice. LJpon receipt, a�plicatians will be stamped wi�h time and date. All <br />applications shall be retained by the Commission for��eriod of two {2Lyears from <br />the date o c m 1 ion o the ''n ro ess. <br />b. Applicants may be required to furnish in�ormation regarding the applicant's health, <br />character, employment history, age and other infor3mation deemed relevant by the <br />Commission in accordance with State and Federal taws and at a ro riate tim s <br />d ri the a licati n and irin oce s. The Commission may also require <br />evidence of special quaiifications where it deems such special qua�ifications <br />necessary to the opening to be filled. <br />c. In order to specially examine applicants for positions requiring trust, responsibility, <br />special experience, skill or faithfulness, applicants may be required to give references <br />concerning their moral character, sobriety, integrity and faithfulness. References as <br />to those traits deemed unsatisfactory or insufficient may be considered sufficient <br />grounds for the excluding of an applicant frorn examination. <br />�. Any false or t{eceptive statements of a materiaI nature made on an application or <br />durin the hirin rocess may be deemed sufficient grounds for exciuding an <br />applicant from examination. <br />� <br />
