Trenchless technology
The technology that will be used on this project is a
spray -on liner produced by 3M. This product is
certified to the national standard of the National
Sanitation Foundation (NSF /ANSI — 61) for potable
water systems. NSF is an independent, not for
profit organization that certifies products that come
into contact with drinking water. The NSF has led
the development of the American National
Standards for all materials and products that treat
or come in contact with drinking water to help
protect public health and the environment and
minimize adverse health effects.
Municipal water is a heavily regulated market with a
well- defined set of requirements regarding public
health. All manufacturers are required to submit
their products to an authorized third party
laboratory to determine if the product is acceptable
for use.
Any product designed for use within a potable
drinking water system must be certified to the
ANSI/ NSF 61 Standard by an authorized review
firm. 3MTM ScotchkoteTM Pipe Renewal Liner 2400
has been reviewed by two independent agencies,
NSF and Water Quality Authority (WQA) and 3M's
manufacturing process and facilities are reviewed
by NSF annually.
The materials used in the 3M liner are BPa and
Epoxy free, and contain no Volatile Organic
Compounds (VOCs) or solvent.
3M and Veit and Companies, Inc., the contractor for
this project, follow all local, State and Federal
safety regulations and procedures for construction
projects involving potable drinking water systems.
New to Minnesota
The 3M technology has been used in several other
states in the US as well as Canada and Europe.
However, this is the first project using this
technology in Minnesota. As a result, you may see
groups of people on site coming to look at the lining
process. These people will be engineers and public
works crews from other cities and public agencies,
city officials, and contractors interested in learning
about the process and product.
Traffic Delays
The Contractor will be responsible for traffic control
as part of the contract. All roadways will be open
throughout the project and we do not anticipate any
significant traffic delays.
Safety
We remind you to use caution around the work site.
Your assistance in reminding area children r
to stay clear of construction equipment is 1'
helpful in maintaining a safe environment.
Your patience and cooperation during this_
construction is appreciated.
Project Funding
The project will be funded with water infrastructure
funds, there will be no assessments to property
owners for this project.
Possible Schedule Changes
As with any construction project, the schedule and
completion date is somewhat dependent on the
weather. We ask for your patience with any
weather delays we may encounter during this
project.
cts:
istine Giga, P.E., Civil Engir
651.792.7048
kristine.giga(c),ci. roseville.mn. us
Chad Carney, Sales and Marketing Manager, 3M
651.737.8408
ccarnev(o).mmm.com
