-. ._ <br />Draft Planning Commission Minutes Attachment D <br />Further discussion on possible uses ensued, including call centers or business help line offices; <br />and destination-type uses; and City code regulations for sexually-oriented businesses. <br />Commissioner Boerigter spoke in support of staff's recommendation without further restrictions <br />for permitted uses. <br />MOTION <br />Member Boerigter moved, seconded by Member Gasongo to RECOMMEND APPROVAL of <br />the request for an Amended PUD for Melissa Olson and Eugene Schultz to allow the <br />proposed range of business uses in the multi-tenant building at 1940 Lexington Avenue; <br />based on the comments and findings of Section 5, and the conditions of Sections 5 and 6, <br />and the condition of Section 7 of the project report dated September 5, 2007. <br />Amendment #1: <br />Chair Bakeman moved, seconded by Member Gottfried, to amend the proposed motion to <br />delete "Physical culture and health services" from the list of permitted businesses under <br />the PUD Amendment. <br />Chair Bakeman provided her rationale for deleting this specific use, due to the lack of clarity and <br />definition of the use. Chair Bakeman opined that her perception of this type of use would be that <br />of a spa type business, and not appropriate to this property and the limited parking availability. <br />Amendment�l <br />Ayes: 7 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Motion carried. <br />Commissioners asked that staff determine definitions of uses and provide that information with <br />future requests. <br />Amendment #2 <br />Member poherty moved that the retail use and expansion be limited to 3,100 square foot <br />total. The Chair declared the motion dead for lack of a second. <br />Mr. Schultr advised that renting space was a recurring probiem due to lack of parking <br />availability; and noted that prospective tenants are well-acquainted with the number of parking <br />spaces they require and space limitations of the site. <br />Chair Bakeman asked Mr. Schultz if he'd allocated a certain number of spaces to each business. <br />Mr. Schultz advised that, to-date, he has not made such designations. <br />Original Motion, as amended <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 1 (Doherty) <br />Motion carried. <br />
