Chair Grefenberg encouraged the Commissioners to invite their friends and neighbors as only six <br />people were registered to date. He noted an article highlighting the event would be printed in an <br />upcoming edition of the Roseville City News. He also requested the youth commissioners speak <br />with �€ various school groups and invite them to attend the community dialogues. <br />Youth Commissioner Siliciano commented she would post this event on the HRC Facebook <br />page. <br />Commissioner Groff explained that personal invitations may be the best route to encourage <br />attendance. <br />Chair Grefenberg expressed his appreciation for the involvement of the Roseville School District <br />and Roseville Police Department on this project. <br />Outreach Committee <br />Shoreview Intergenerational Dialogue: Vice Chair Brisbois noted the Outreach Committee <br />had been in conversation with the City of Shoreview regarding their upcoming intergenerational <br />dialogue. The goal of this dialogue was to encourage discussions between 60-70 year olds with <br />youth. A moderator from Northwest Youth and Family Services would moderate the event, <br />along with four panel members. She noted Joan Dao would be on the panel as a youth <br />representative. <br />Vice Chair Brisbois explained the Outreach Committee has been asked to co-sponsor the event <br />with Shoreview Human Rights Commission, and Shoreview was requesting a$100 donation to <br />assist with the event. Brisbois indicated the event would be held on Thursday, May 9 from 6:00- <br />8:00 p.m. at the Shoreview Community Center. <br />Vice-Chair Brisbois moved and Chair Grefenberg seconded a motion to approve the HRC's co- <br />sponsorship of the Shareview Intergenerational Dialogue and a$100 contribution. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Rosefest Parade: Vice-Chair Brisbois commented she would be working with the youth <br />commissioners on the HRC's participation in the parade. <br />Chair Grefenberg suggested the HRC encourage ethnic minorities involvement in the parade. He <br />said he would raise that possibility at the New American Forum in May. <br />Commissioner poneen recommended the Hmong club from the high school be invited to <br />participate. <br />Chair Grefenberg suggested the youth commissioners make contact with the minority groups <br />within the Roseville High School. <br />New Commission Brochure: Commissioner Becker presented the Commission with the <br />Outreach Committee's proposed new version.
