171 <br />172 Additional discussion included rationale in considering cost effectiveness for <br />173 installation one side versus the other side, as well as safety and continuity <br />174 considerations; elevation challenges along various segments; and areas that may <br />175 require landing areas at certain points to facilitate appropriate ADA grades and <br />176 the grades of adjacent areas and existing pathways. <br />177 <br />178 At the request of Member Gjerdingen, Ms. Bloom offered to review matching the <br />179 pathway to the park trail in Central Park from Victoria Street; as well as looking <br />180 at safety concerns for people using the pathways in the park after closing at 10:00 <br />181 p.m. to address remote areas and lighting availability. <br />182 <br />183 In discussing some safety concerns and clear zones for the pathway crossing at <br />184 County Road B -2, members noted that those considerations would all be part of <br />185 staff's next step in value engineering the roject. <br />186 <br />187 Ms. Giga and Ms. Bloom advised that the next steps would to provide this <br />188 project update to the Parks & Recreation Commission at their August meeting; <br />189 and again to the City it in September for their approval to move forward <br />190 with final design and co Co? n; anticipating a 2014 construction project. Ms. <br />191 Giga advised that part of that process would be to fine -tune the designs and <br />192 develop specific cost impacts; review the health and species of trees in the project <br />193 area and impacts to existing trees; completion of a final drainage design and <br />194 proposed BMP's to present to and meet Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) <br />195 requirements; and while continuing to meet on -site with residents as requested to <br />196 answer their estions one -on -one. <br />197 <br />205 Chair Vanderwall announced and invited the public to attend an upcoming organized <br />211 Member Stenlund provided a bench handout for staff and file, attached hereto and made <br />212 apart hereof, of the Villa Park wetland restoration sediment dewatering facility being <br />213 done by Frattalone Construction, and providing the use of some amazing engineering <br />214 technologies for removal of sediment from stormwater retention ponds, part of a Capitol <br />215 Region Watershed District project. <br />216 <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />
