The nomination was b�L-allowed b the 363 Chair with the provision that other vice chair nominations would also be accepted at the 364 November HRC meeting. Commissioner Becker accepted the nomination. 365 366 Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Planning Cultural Festival during Rosefest 2014 367 368 Chair Grefenberg indicated that Youth Commissioner Joan Dao had advised him that she would 369 not be able to make any further meetings this calendar year, but was willing to work by phone 370 with the other Youth Commissioners and Ad Hoc Committee members Jill Brisbois and Kam 371 Thao in planning her suggested Cultural Festival for next year's Rosefest. 372 373 Grefenberg added that he had asked Staff Liaison Curti to make preliminary contact with the 374 Roseville Parks Department to determine what initial steps were needed to proceed with the 375 incorporation of this HRC event into the Parks Department - organized Rosefest. 376 377 Ms. Curti reported that she had talked with the Parks Department Jill Anfang who told her that 378 her department could only provide the venue and the publicity if the HRC wished to proceed 379 with this program during Rosefest; Curti added that probably the best day for such an HRC 380 program would be on Saturday, June 28tH. 381 382 Curti also mentioned another alternative which was the Parks Department - sponsored 383 Performances in the Park on Tuesday, Thursdays, and Sundays during the summer. 384 385 In response to a question from the Chair, Curti said the Parks Department would need a firm 386 commitment from the HRC as well as a general outline of the event itself by the first of January. 387 in order for it to be 388 properly advertised by the Parks and Recreation Department in 2014. 389 390 Vice Chair Brisbois lit volunteered she would have the subcommittee meet and report 391 back to the Commission lLz 392 393 Other Standing Committee Reports 394 . There were no 395 other committee reports. 396 397 New Business 398 399 Minnesota Department of Human Rights Symposium on December 5, 2013: Chair 400 Grefenberg explained the Minnesota Department of Human Rights Symposium would be held on 401 December 5, 2013. He encouraged those interested in attending to RSVP with staff and the $85 402 fee would be covered by the Commission. 403
