Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />September 18, 2013 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br />funding to create another commission at this time, and that additional members could be the best <br />option for the HRC. <br />Chair Grefenberg suggested that if additional members were added the Commission's name be <br />changed to the Human Rights and Civic Engagement Commission. <br />Commissioner Singleton recommended this matter be discussed at a future meeting. He said he <br />was pursuing a plan to have an Office of Human Rights established to assure that the human <br />rights issues in Roseville were being fully addressed. <br />Chair Grefenberg commented the Council has already approved the preliminary 2014 budget and <br />as such there was not enough time to add this to the budget. <br />Commissioner Singleton stated his thoughts would be to have the pilot program funded by <br />outside sources and would not begin until 2014. <br />Chair Grefenberg requested staff seek additional information on funding sources or grants that <br />may be available to the City of Roseville for human rights for the purposes as the Office of <br />Human Rights and Civic Engagement suggestion of Commissioner Singleton. Staff liaison Curti <br />agreed to do so <br />Grefenberg also asked that Commissioners receive business cards for official use at future events <br />in the Commission's outreach efforts. <br />Commissioner Groff agreed with this recommendation. Commissioner Singleton commented he <br />knew of a Roseville business that was willing to provide business cards at a reduced rate for the <br />HRC . <br />Staff Liaison Curti said she would raise this request with City Manager Trudgeon. <br />Committee and Chair Reports <br />Chair's Report: Grefenberg noted he had nothing further to report, and referred Commission <br />members to his Chair's Report in their meeting packet. <br />Any Other Standing Committee Reports <br />There was nothing at this time. <br />Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Planning Cultural Festival: Joan Dao not being present, there was <br />no report this evening. <br />Staff Reports <br />
