414 5.5 AVL System <br />415 5.5.1 An Automatic Vehicle Location ( "AVL ") System, within the context of this <br />416 Agreement, acquires vehicle location information via GPS signaling using an <br />417 antenna and receiver in each vehicle. That location information is then <br />418 transmitted by the Mobile Data System in the vehicle (via commercial <br />419 wireless) to the ECC. <br />420 5.5.2 County Responsibilities. The County is responsible for the following AVL <br />421 System hardware, software, and services: <br />422 5.5.2.1 Computing hardware platform (e.g., servers) on which the <br />423 County - provided AVL System software operates. <br />424 5.5.2.2 Server /host -based AVL application software for the County - <br />425 provided AVL System. <br />426 5.5.2.3 Applications that are licensed to the County as part of the AVL <br />427 System. <br />428 5.5.2.4 Interfaces between the AVL System and the CAD and Mobile <br />429 Systems. <br />430 5.5.2.5 Licenses for AVL System client software to be used on end user <br />431 computing devices, and software maintenance, including updates. <br />432 5.5.2.6 Written installation standards /guidelines. <br />433 5.5.3 Member Responsibilities. Each Member is responsible for the following AVL <br />434 System hardware, software, and services: <br />435 5.5.3.1 Vehicle antennas and the installation of those antennas including <br />436 cabling and other required hardware and services. <br />437 5.5.3.2 GPS receivers (radios) and the installation of those in vehicles. <br />438 5.5.3.3 Physical connections between the GPS receivers and the mobile <br />439 data system computing devices (laptop, tablet) in the vehicles (if <br />440 GPS is not built into the devices) and verification that GPS position <br />441 data is being relayed to the device and mobile application. <br />442 5.6 End User Computing Devices <br />443 5.6.1 End user computing devices such as desktops, laptops and tablets provide a <br />444 means to access and input CAD and Mobile Data information. End user <br />445 computing devices may be handheld, connected to building networks or <br />446 installed in vehicles. <br />447 5.6.2 County Responsibilities. The County is responsible for the following end user <br />448 computing device hardware, software, and related services: <br />449 5.6.2.1 Providing and maintaining end user computing devices and <br />450 associated operating system software for the end user computing <br />451 devices at the ECC. <br />CAD and Mobile Data Agreement Ramsey County and User Members Page 12 of 48 <br />
