Chair Grefenber� asked Staff Liaison Curti if she <br />1 g4 would consider such an article and she a_ r� eed. <br />185 <br />186 HRC sponsorship of Naturalization Ceremony and Reception on April 16: Chair <br />187 Grefenberg r°^��°�*°�' ^^��°�* �-^� asked Commissioner Courneya to report on this program <br />1 gs for which she had �rovided such effective leadershi� <br />1g� <br />190 Commissioner Courneya explained that naturalization ceremonies were not approved for evening <br />191 hours, as this would require Federal Court emplovee overtime. For this reason, she was <br />192 recommending the HRC sponsor a naturalization ceremony on the afternoon of April 16 from <br />193 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. She explained the US District Court staff was extremely excited to be <br />194 warking with the Roseville HRC on this event. <br />195 <br />196 Commissioner Courneva also re�orted that the Court off'icial she was warkin� with had <br />197 s��ested that if the event went well it mav be somethin� the Human Ri�hts Commission could <br />198 do on an annual basis. <br />199 <br />200 <br />201 <br />Zo2 <br />203 <br />204 <br />Courneva concluded her re�ort bv indicatin� that the federal courts would welcome televisin� of <br />the ceremonv. <br />Commissioner Thao asked if any Roseville residents would be naturalized at this event. <br />Commissioner Courneya indicated there would be no easy way to determine if Roseville <br />205 residents would be sworn in at the ceremony.
