Bolted panel access shall not be acceptable. 2. All exterior doors required for access to switchgear and other equipment shall be hinged, insulated and provided with a sealing gasket. 3. All exterior switchgear access doors shall have vault type handles, suitable for padlocking. 4. All exterior switchgear access doors shall be provided with hardware suitable for securing the door in a 90 degree open position in winds up to 45 miles per hour. ~ Gasketina. Each external opening shall be fitted with a sealing gasket of material suitable for the installation environment and of a thickness to allow a minimum of 1/8" gasket deformation when the opening is closed. Gasketing may be glued in place to obtain better sealing characteristics but must also be mechanically retained. ~ Wirinq Provisions. Provisions shall be made for all bottom entry, incoming and outgoing conduits, to enter the structure through removable, bolted and gasketed floor plates. Adequate space for field installation of above floor conduit seals shall be provided. ~ Paintinq. 1. Metal Preparation: Clean and phosphatized all uncoated steel. Clean zinc coated steel with lacquer thinner. 2. Walls and Roof: One (1) coat of rust inhibitive primer (Napko 1340 or equal) and two (2) finish coats high solids vinyl (Napko 5450 or approved equal). 3. Base to be sandblasted prior to painting.
