<br />RECAP OF THE APPLICATION <br /> <br />National School Bus Service, Inc. has applied for a Special <br />Use Permit to operate their business from the 4.55 acre site <br />located at 1905 West County Road C. The property is zoned General <br />Industrial. The use that they intend for the property is "storage <br />and maintenance of school and charter buses." <br /> <br />The original application contained requests for several <br />variances; the number of variances requested in this report has <br />been reduced from the previous application. <br /> <br />The previous information submitted contained detailed <br />information on the company, its ownership and operation and <br />intended use of the facility. The company provides services for six <br />school districts, several of which are special education <br />transportation services, in addition to the pUblic transportation <br />contracts that include the Roseville Area Circulator, and Metro <br />Mobility, White Bear Area Transit, Minnesota Medical Assistance, <br />Veterans Administration, and Hennepin County Medical Center & <br />Metropolitan Health Plan. They desire to consolidate the services <br />currently housed in Forest Lake, two locations in St. Paul, and one <br />in Eden Praire into a centralized location. This location and <br />facility are ideal for their operation. <br /> <br />As the following Site Plans and pictures will show, they are <br />committing to upgrade the subject property from its condition today <br />to a level that is very close to meeting the strict standards <br />implemented by the City of Roseville just recently. The commitment <br />is made to work in full cooperation with the City in fulfilling <br />the future plans for street changes even though accommodating those <br />changes sign if i cant 1 y impacts the uti 1 i zat i on of the site and <br />creates a time of adjustment and hardship during the time that the <br />access is changed. <br /> <br />The pictures i nc 1 uded in th is report showi ng the adj acent <br />properties documents that the applicant will clearly improve the <br />subject property to a level incredibly higher than the properties <br />that are surrounding the subject property. <br />
