<br />Proposed Changes to Sign Ordinance <br /> <br />April 29, 1992 <br /> <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />4) Bannerettes - Bannerettes may be used as an alternative to corporate flags. They may be used on <br />light standards or flag poles. No more than one bannerette shall be allowed per pole. Pennitted <br />bannerettes shall contain no logos or messages. Bannerettes shall be smaller than any U.S. flag on <br />the property, and no laIger than three feet by five feet Bannerettes shall not be flown at a height <br />greater than any U.S. flag allowed on the property. <br /> <br />5) Banners - No more than two banners per event. Banners may contain logos and messages. They <br />shall not be lqer than 75 square feet nor higher than the wall of the principal building on the <br />property. They shall be of professional quality. Banners may be attached to poles or buildings, <br />provided they are well secured and are prevented from being blown around uncontrollably by the <br />wind. <br /> <br />6) Laser Light Show - One allowed by conditional use permit. Allowed only for a grand opelÚng <br />celebration conducted by a professional, bonded, laser light show operator. <br /> <br />c. The following lot decorations and activities shall be prohibited for speåal events: <br /> <br />1) Pennants, spinners, windsocks, streamers, ribbons, whirling devices, light bulb strings, flashing <br />lights, portable trailer signs, portable electric signals, portable sandwich board or A-frame signs, <br />hot or cold air balloons or lasers. <br /> <br />2) Displays or special features on any landscaped areas, except on light poles. <br />3) Aerial rides. <br /> <br />4) Food unless purchased through a licensed food vendor. <br /> <br />5) Lqe balloons or a collection of small balloons exceeding two feet in diameter. <br /> <br />6) Adding lighting that does not meet City Code. <br /> <br />7) Advertising devices in any public right-of-way. <br /> <br />D. Grand Opening Special Event Decorations: <br /> <br />1) Any new business in any non-residential zoning district may use decorations and signs to celebrate <br />One grand opening special event within one month of when the business first opens it doors to its <br />customers. Said decorations and signs shall not be repeated or used to celebrate the grand opening <br />of other businesses at other locations or be used to celebrate mere name changes of existing <br />businesses, unless there is also a change of the business owners.e <br />2) Use of such decorations and signs shall be limited in length to ten consecutive calendar days. <br /> <br />3) Use of such decorations and signs shall comply with the same regulations as those for other special <br />events. <br /> <br />4) Use of such decorations and signs for grand opening special events shall not be applied toward the <br />number of events with signs pennitted per lot. <br />
