This would put the <br />signage under the overhang of the existing roof, where it would be <br />difficult to see. The structure of the roof overhang is not built <br />to carry much additional weight, such as an attached sign box. The <br />proposed signage is about 25% of the total wall area of the center, <br />or 2-1/2 times what is allowed by the Code. <br /> <br />We discussed the possibilities and agreed that since the center is <br />an existing use and that the existing roof overhang would obscure <br />new wall signage under it, it would be reasonable to consider a <br />variance to the location of the new signage, but not the size.
