The vegetation <br />of the final portion of the complex, PFOIC, is boxelder Acer negundo <br />(facultative wetland -) with areas of cottonwoods Populus deltoides <br />(facultative +) and red-osier dogwood Comus stolonifera (facultative <br />wetland) . <br /> <br />Basin 3 soils are a very dark grey (7.5 YR 3/1) sandy loam, with dark <br />reddish brown (5 YR 3/3) mottles. Portions of the basin were disturbed <br />between stakes 1 through 6. <br /> <br />Wetland 4 is .07 acres in size It is classified as a Type 2 (Inland fresh marsh) <br />and is also classified as a PEMB wetland (Palustrine Emergent Vegetation <br />Saturated). The basin area is not entirely vegetated. <br /> <br />The existing wetland vegetation is comprised of reed canary grass Phalaris <br />arundinacea (facultative wetland)and European red-berried elder Sambucus <br />racemosa (facultative upland) with boxelder Acer negundo (facultative <br />wetland) and cottonwoods Populus deltoides (facultative +) in the <br />surrounding upland areas. <br /> <br />Soils in basin 4 are a black (7.5 YR 2.5/1) silty loam. <br /> <br />Wetland 5 is .44 acres in size. It is also classified as a Type 2 (Inland fresh <br />meadow) and as PEMB wetland (Palustrine Emergent Vegetation Saturated). <br />The wetland is located in a small depression area. <br /> <br />Basin 5 soils are black (7.5 YR 2/0, 5 YR 3/1, and 10 YR 2/0) loam and <br />silty loam. There are brown and dark brown (7.5 YR 4/3, 3/3, and 3/2) <br />mottles and gleying occurring periodically throughout the basin. Soil at stake <br />5 is disturbed. <br /> <br />Vegetation is comprised primarily of reed canary grass Phalaris arundinacea <br />(facultative wetland), boxelder Acer negundo (facultative wetland), willow <br />Salix spp. (facultative wetland-), wool grass Scirpus cyperinus (obligate <br />wetland) and green bulrush Scirpus atrovirens (obligate wetland). <br /> <br />SCHOELL & MADSON, INC.
