Paul, MN--November 1986--HEAT-RESISTANT BAR CODE LABELS which are
impervious to moisture and solvents have been introduced by
Computype, the barcode specialists, for use in printed circuit board
production.

The sequentially--numbered Compu-tronic labels allow all the benefits
of automatic identification and data collection techniques to be
obtained throughout the manufacture of pcbs and in quality control,
automatic testing and field servicing applications.

They adhere firmly and retain excellent readability throughout
baking, wave soldering and many widely-used cleaning processes.

with a guaranteed minimum print contrast ratio of 90% and an "X-
dimensiontl tolerance fo .001 in, the bar code symbol ensures
consistent first-time reading and error-free data collection, says
Computype.

Bars contain no viods or rough edges, and intervening spaces are
clear of ink specks, resulting in an image quality well in excess of
minimum specifications laid down by all major manufacturers of bar
code reading equipment.

To ensure label durability and full retention fo symbol quality,
additional protection is provided by a chemical topcat bonded by UV
radiation to the flexible base material. A wide range of adhesives
can be applied to suit particular pcb manufacturing technologies.

Computronic labels are supplied in roll, sheet or fan-folded formats.
ultra-high density (15 or more characters/inch) bar code symbols can
be produced, with narrow elements as small as .004 in.

Free label samples are available from computype, along with a full
technical advisory service.

Bar coding is already being used in the electronics, engineering,
automotive, medical, defense, banking and commercial areas and is
being embraced by many companies who wish to improve their
productivity.
