7. OTHER CONTFAC1S 7.1 Sewer and Water The rough grading work is to be done under thisract. The grading Contractor will make every effort to cooperate with the Owner to make portions available as soon as possible. The Contractor shall coordinate his operations with other Contractors so as to avoid conflicts and delays in the work covered under this contract. Prior to connecting to or working adjacent to existing utilities, the Contractor shall inspect and verify the conditions of the utilities and inform the Owner and Engineer of any defects, debris, or other irregularities in writing. Upon giving such notice, the Contractor shall begin construction and any damage discovered thereafter on the City utilities and not on the written notice shall be considered to have been done by the Contractor and all repairs or cleaning shall be paid for by the Contractor. 7.2 Electrical utility It is the responsibility of the Contractor to contract a representative from the power company at the very beginning of the proposed development to make sure electrical service is available. Plan to coordinate underground electric installation with the development of the property so that electrical service and street lights can be installed immediately after the underground sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer, and possibly curb and gutter are installed. 8. EXISTING UTILITIES The location of underground utilities shown on the plans, as reported by the utility companies and the Owner, does not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility of determining the accuracy or completeness of said locations. The Contractor shall determine the location of all underground conduits, cables, or structures which will be affected by his cables, or structures which will be affected by his excavation, and shall take steps necessary to support, protect, remove or relocate said structures by means suitable to the Owner of the structure involved. In those instances where relocation or reconstruction is impracticable, a change from the planned line and grade will be ordered by the Engineer. All cost of relocation of said structure shall be included in the bid price.
