The most popular diets on the <br />market today are Eat Right 4 Your Type, Dr. Atkins New <br />Revolution Diet, Sugar Busters and high protein, no <br />carbohydrate diets. Most people who have been on these <br />diets will claim success the first few weeks of being on the <br />program. These programs are relatively successful because <br />the dieter consumes only about 800 to 1000 calories a day. <br />That number is below the recommended minimum caloric <br />consumption of 1200 calories a day. Once off the programs <br />most individuals gain all the weight they lost back plus more. <br />The bottom line is that these diets are popular <br />because they provide instant gratification of weight loss. It <br />is unrealistic to live forever on that type of diet and again, <br />the dieter will eventually regain lost weight. Be skeptical <br />and critique diets. The are cleverly written, provide <br />anecdotal, not scientific evidence and if it sounds too good <br />to be true, it is!
