Enclosed is a copy of the results compiled by Jamie Radel on your July 1St meeting where you
discussed the Parks and Recreation Chapter. They were sent out to you shortly after the
meeting and prior to the steering committee meeting for your further review and any additional
suggestions, comments, etc. Enclosed are the final results that were subsequently approved
by the steering committee.
Requested Commission Action: Report, comments and suggestions
7. Pathway Committee Update
Commissioner Brodt Lenz is your representative to the Pathway Committee. The Committee
has met several times including a. community open house on July 30th, 2008. The latest update
information will be provided at your meeting.
Requested Commission Action: Discuss and Comment..
8. Master Plan Request for Proposals (RFP) Discussion
Staff is continuing to move forward gathering information to prepare a request for proposals
(RFP) to lead the Parks and Recreation System Master Plan effort. The RFP is important as it
will outline a direction and approach for the planning process. Enclosed is a very rough draft of
the components of an RFP for your review and input. It is the goal over the next couple of
months to finalize an RFP and develop a navigation committee that the City Attorney, Parks
and Recreation Commission and the City Council are comfortable with issuing to obtain
proposals.
Requested. Commission Action: Provide comments, suggestions, etc, into the RFP for
Master Plan services
9. Recommend Annual Tour Day/Date/Locations/Topics
Your September meeting has traditionally been a tour of parks and facilities. Your regularly
scheduled meeting day is Tuesday, September 2nd. If you wish to take a tour and stay with this
day you will need to start earlier to avoid darkness. Please be prepared to let staff know of the
sites you would like to visit - drive by or walk? It would again be suggested to use the Roseville
van.
It would be good to stay on a timeframe with the Master Plan process, so ideally it would be
good to discuss the RFP further at the September meeting.
Requested Commission Action: Finalize decision about tour for the September meeting. If
yes, then recommend date, time, and sites. Also, discussion about adding the continued
discussion on the Master Plan RFP to the September agenda.
10. Department Review
Staff will present a review of the current and upcoming recreation programs, services and
projects.
Requested Commission Action: Comments, questions and suggestions for recreation
programs, services and projects.
11.
