TSCHIDA OW ASSO ffiLLS PLAT 4

B. Storm Sewer

Catch basin leads or storm sewers which cross the street in areas where soils are
highly frost susceptible shall be backfilled in accordance with guidelines as are
outlined in the MN DOT Road Design Manual. Section 806.02.08 and 806.02.09.
A drain tile pipe shall be placed on the bottom of the aggregate bedding trench,
which shall drain into a catch basin structure. A detail for this construction shall be
included in these Plans. In lieu of the MN DOT method, the City may consider an
alternate design. The alternate design shall be reviewed and approved by the City
Engineer.

Storm Sewer manholes and catch basins 48" diameter and larger shall be flat slab
and in accordance with Roseville Standard Spec. 502.3. Steps shall be provided on
all structures deeper than 4 feet.

C. Where interference with existing structures is possible or in any way indicated,
and where necessary to establish elevation or direction for connection to in-place
structures, the excavating shall be done at those locations in advance of the main
operation so actual conditions will be exposed in sufficient time to make
adjustments with resorting to extra work or unnecessary delay.

D. The Contractor shall keep accurate records of all service installations as to type,
location, elevation, point of connection and termination, etc. Service installations
shall not be back-filled until all required infonnation has been obtained and
recorded.

E. The grading contractor under separate contract will rough grade the site including
constructing the subgrade for street construction.

Prior to completion of the grading operations, the street sub grade will be staked
for the Contractor so that he can satisfy himself that the rough grading performed
by the grading contractor is to proper grade and compaction prior to beginning
work on the project. It will be graded to the following tolerances: The finished
subgrade elevation shall be :1:0.20 foot from plan elevation, with elevations not
being predominately high or low causing an excess or shortage of material.

-3-
