<br />TSCIDDA OW ASSO HILLS PLAT 4 <br /> <br />Air Test - The sewer pil?e section under test shall be clean at the time of testing <br />but the pipe may be wetted. Pneumatic balls shall be introduced into the plugged <br />line until the internal air pressure reaches 4.0 psi greater than the average back <br />pressure of any ground water pressure that may submerge the pipe. At least two <br />minutes shall be allowed for the air temperature to stabilize before readings are <br />taken and the timing started. The sewer section under test will be accepted as <br />having passed the air leakage test if it does not loose air at a rate to cause the <br />pressure to drop from 3.6 to 3.0 psi in less time than one-half minute per inch in <br />diameter of the pipe tested. <br /> <br />2.6 Erosion Control <br /> <br />Installation of erosion control devices will be done by others under a separate <br />contract. The Contractor will take over and maintain the erosion control at the start <br />of his work. No direct payment shall be made for maintaining the erosion control <br />set up by others. Any additional silt fence furnished and installed as necessary to <br />control erosion shall be incidental. <br /> <br /> <br />2.7 Method Qf Measurement and am ill Pa.yment <br /> <br />The cost of all materials and labor required to complete this project, as specified and <br />shown on the plans, but not specifically included as a paid item, shall be merged <br />with the various unit prices bid. <br /> <br />A. Sewer Pipe - Sewer Pipe with granular bedding shall be paid for at the contract <br />unit price per lineal foot. Measurement shall be in-place lineal feet from <br />center to center of manholes with no deduction for fittings. <br /> <br />B. Manholes or Catch Basins - Payment shall be at the contract unit price for each <br />manhole or catch basin up to 8 feet of depth including frame and cover. Manhole <br />or catch basin depths shall be measured in lineal feet from the invert of the <br />lowest pipe to the top of the cover or grate. <br /> <br /> <br />C. Service Connections - Wye and bend or tee and bend shall be paid for as one unit <br />at the contract unit price. Measurement shall be each wye and bend in place. <br /> <br />D. Excess Manhole Depth - Manhole or catch basin depth in excess of 8 feet shall <br />be measured and paid for at the contract unit price per lineal foot. <br /> <br />E. Service Pipe - Sewer Service and riser pipe shall be measured in lineal feet in <br />place from the end of the wye or tee to the end of the service or riser. Payment <br />shall be at the contract unit price per lineal foot. <br />-6- <br />
