<br />, <br /> <br />.J <br />1 <br />1 <br />j <br />J <br />J <br />1 <br />] <br />] " <br />1 <br />"J <br /> <br /> <br />GENERAL CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT <br /> <br />SECTION 1 - DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />AGREEMENT <br /> <br />The written agreement between the "Owner and the Contractor covering <br />the Work to be performed, including the Contractor's bid. <br /> <br />PAYMENT DOCUMENT <br /> <br />The form furnished by the Engineer which is to be used by the <br />Contractor in requesting progress payments. <br /> <br />BID - The offer or proposal of the Bidder submitted on the prescribed form setting <br />forth the prices for the work to be performed. <br /> <br />BIDDER - Any person, firm or corporation submitting a Bid for the Work. <br /> <br />OWNER - A public body or Authority, Corporation, Association, Partnership or <br />Individual for whom the work is to be performed. <br /> <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR - The person, firm or corporation with whom the Owner has executed an <br />Agreement to perform the work. <br /> <br />ENGINEER - The person, firm or corporation named as such in the specifications. <br /> <br />SUBCONTRACTOR - A person, firm or corporation having a direct contract with the <br />Contractor or with any other Subcontractor for the performance <br />of a part of the work at the site. <br /> <br />BONDS - Bid, performance and payment bonds and other instruments of security <br />furnished by the contractor and his surety in accordance with the <br />Contract Documents. <br /> <br />CHANGE ORDER - A written order to the Contractor signed by the Owner authorizing <br />an addition, deletion or revision in the work, or an adjustment <br />in the Contract Price or the Contract Time issued after execution <br />of the Agreement. <br /> <br />CONTRACT DOCUMENTS - The Contract Documents shall consist of Proposal Form, Form <br />of Agreement, General Conditions of Contract, Plans, Specif- <br />ications, Special Provisions, and Addendum thereto and Perform- <br />ance Bond. It shall also include the Advertisement or Notice <br />to Bidders and Instruction to Bidders when they are included <br />in the bound specifications or bidding documents. <br /> <br />CONTRACT PRICE - The tocal moneys payable to che Contractor under the Contra~~ <br />Documents. <br /> <br />CONTRACT TIHE - Theinumber of calendar days stated in the Agre~~ent for the Comp- <br />let on or tne WorK. <br /> <br />PROJECT REPRESENTATIVE - An authorized representative of che Engineer assigned to <br />provide periodic observation of the work. <br /> <br />GC-l <br /> <br />
