Dear Members of the Roseville City Council:

Attached are copies of a letter from residents of the Rose Place neighborhood
between Hamline and Snelling Avenues, supporting recommendations from the
Planning Commission.

The agenda items are related. The Master Buffer Plan item came out of our March
request (also accompanied by a petition) for the City to consider a proactive plan to
.: protect residential property values along our industrial boundary, as businesses
change and expand. This is an area which has had problems along the interface for
years. It is a situation complicated by the fact that several of the homes are on a hill
overlooking the industries. We requested that the City review and make
recommendations for the neighborhood as a whole, rather than deal with a constant
barrage ofiridividual conflicts.

We urge you to come and look at our neighborhood, from the dead end at the east end
of Rose Place to the intersection with Snelling Curve. Many of us are home during
the day, if you would care to look at the interface from some of the back yards.

Respectfully submitted,

~-4.~~

Margaret Redmond
1455 Rose Place

July 19, 1996
