<br />~.... <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />DATE: 9-23-96 <br /> <br />ITEM NO.: C-3 <br />Department Approval: Manager Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br /> <br />~ ~ cdf Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Item Description: City share of Oasis Park/neighbors fence extension. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />In 1994-95, the City Council and staff worked with neighbors of the Oasis Park area <br />(including residents and ACI managers and employees) to solve noise and "line of site" <br />problems. The Council's direction was to solve the problem by being a partner to the <br />project. New berms, fencing, utility relocation, and landscaping were installed along the <br />south boundary of the park. The City's share of this was 50%, or slightly less than <br />$50,000. The funding for this project came from pooled TIF used to improve, maintain, <br />or redevelop the Roseville industrial areas. . <br /> <br />Along the west end of this site, 210 feet of buffering/fencing was not completed. While <br />this area does not directly abut Oasis Park, it does continue the fence line to the west <br />end of the ACI property. The City staff direction was to complete the work, not to <br />exceed 50% of the fence cost (City share was approximately $3,500). The 8 foot high <br />fence is now completed. ACI has borne all additional costs beyond $3,500 and has <br />begun a major sound baffling project. of all noisy machinery on the west roof and along <br />the northwest wall. The neighbors are satisfied with the project completion. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Complete payment on the City share of the fence by authorizing payment of $3,500 <br />from the City TI F pool. <br /> <br />Suggested Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to authorize payment of the City share of the fence cost, not to exceed $3,500. <br /> <br />Staff Report by: Dennis Welsch (490-2232) <br />
