Architectural. and Environmental <br /> <br />1 <br />I <br />I <br />j <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />\ <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />\ <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />1 <br />I <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />Agreements for the above services bave been through conttactS either for specific projects or services. or a <br />given period <>f time, For legal services. wrinen agreements are completed annually. <br /> <br />pURPOSE <br /> <br />It is desirable to amend the current methods of selecting and retaining consulting services to: <br /> <br />. consolidate significant professional service policies into one uniform policy · <br /> <br />. provide Citywide consistency in the procedure of selecting and retaining professional <br />services <br /> <br />. ensure public confidence in process integrity by limiting the amount of time professional <br />services are provided <br /> <br />. ensure a fresh perspective and new approach to professional services <br /> <br />. ensure a regular. consistent fistal review of professional services <br /> <br />pOLICY <br /> <br />It is the policy of the City to employ a CODSisaent practice for selecting and m;ami1\g professional services. <br />CoDttacts for professionalservX:es sbal1 be for ~ee (3) years. aDd include a review process. Consulting <br />firms shall be engaged for a period of DOt more 1ban twO (2) consecutive three (3) year periods. After six <br />(6) ycar~ they shall DOt be aUowed to renew consu1tiDg services for a period of three (3) years. If deemed <br />in the City's best intereSts. die City Mauger may continue professioDa1 ~ for JoDger1ban six (6) <br />years. <br />If the need arises. the City Manager may solicit proposals aDd select firms for special projects or services. <br />Comracts will be nwiewed on a case by case basis. <br /> <br />Selection of all firms sball be approved by the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />w-9 <br />
