<br />General discussion ensued at this point. <br /> <br />J.Rhody asked if the Planning Commission could explain its land use <br />responsibilities to the audience. <br /> <br />John Savada, Ramada Inn, stated it is the city's responsibility to see that <br />business/properties be successful. He expressed concern about employee <br />"head/household jobs." How successful will hotels be? Gary Tuche stated that <br />CSM and Marriott have done market studies that support the need for the hotels. <br /> <br />John Simon, 3062 Cleveland, stated that he cannot get in and out of his <br />driveway now. He expressed concern about hotels. Does the city have <br />plan/ordinance for more green space? Rick Jopke responded there is no space <br />requirement in the city code. The code required 5% green space in parking lot. <br />Is there to be additional safety for children in day care facility? Why can hotels <br />not be moved to south end of site? Can the city do anything to gain better <br />access at County Road C? <br /> <br />Norma Austly, Mt. Ridge Road, asked what went wrong with Woodbridge that it <br />could not develop? Roger Jensen explained the Woodbridge market conditions. <br /> <br />Ken Austly, 3087 Mt. Ridge road, has seen phased low density trucking to major <br />business uses. Why and what is the city's plan for this? Rick Jopke explained <br />the Comprehensive Plan and process. <br /> <br />Carol LaPointe, 3040 Wilder, asked about details of restaurants. What are the <br />names, details, need for liquor license? What type of lighting is needed or <br />proposed? What type of landscaping will be specified? What is a family sit- <br />down type restaurant? <br /> <br />Gary Tushe stated the light levels in the plan will not exceed the standards. The <br />signs will include 2 signs, 20 feet high, with hotel and restaurant on each. <br />Monument signs will be placed on the east side. A family style restaurant was <br />explained. <br /> <br />John Simpson, 3083 Mt. Ridge, asked who controls liquor licenses? Can the city <br />limit liquor to restaurants and DQ1 a bar? What can Ryan do to illustrate the <br />possible movement to the south end of the site? How far will Ryan go to show <br />alternatives? <br /> <br />Roger Jensen stated the city may control liquor licenses. The location is within <br />the review of the Planning Commission. The hotels and restaurants are not <br />connected. <br /> <br />Roger Jensen reviewed the E.A.W. process for the March 24, 1997 Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Jean Olson, 1990 Brenner, asked what type of parking spaces are needed. <br />There is a difference between parking in the original plan vs. the 1997.
