Request by the Community Development Department for a Text Amendment <br /> to the Commercial and Mixed Use Districts Section of the Zoning Ordinance, <br /> Specifically Table 1005-1 Regarding Residential, Civic and Institutional Uses <br /> Before staff's presentation, Mayor Roe stated that there appeared to be a desire by <br /> the City Council to take up this action at a later date, since there was no time con- <br /> straint for this particular proposed text amendment. <br /> Councilmember Willmus stated that it was his suggestion to take this up later, to <br /> allow for public comment and more information from staff on some aspects of <br /> this in conjunction with the student housing aspect when staff felt it was appropri- <br /> ate to pursue those discussions. Councilmember Willmus suggested some neigh- <br /> bors may want to weigh in on the discussion before the City Council took action. <br /> Community Development Director Paul Bilotta advised that it may be appropriate <br /> to bring this up for discussion at the anticipated September City Council <br /> Worksession. <br /> Mayor Roe noted previous discussions, still pending, on the student housing as- <br /> pect,basing delay of this item on further consideration of that issue. <br /> Councilmember McGehee thanked staff for their clarity in the RCA addressing <br /> previous discussions and accurately reflecting the City Council consensus; again <br /> expressing her pleasure with the staff materials being presented. <br /> Willmus moved, Etten seconded, TABLING this item to a date not specific. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus, Laliberte, Etten, and Roe. <br /> Nays: McGehee. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> d. Consider a Zoning Text Amendment to Section 1004.05A (One- and Two- <br /> Family Design Standards of the Roseville Zoning Ordinance <br /> Community Development Director Paul Bilotta briefly reviewed this request as <br /> detailed in the RCA dated August 11, 2014. Mr. Bilotta advised that this was a <br /> result of previous Planning Commission and City Council discussions; and subse- <br /> quent Planning Commission public hearing and discussions held most recently at <br /> their August 6, 2014 meeting. Mr. Bilotta advised that staff was seeking to expe- <br /> dite this request based on a pending development proposal from Hanson Builders. <br /> Mr. Bilotta advised that, at the request of the City Council, the Planning Commis- <br /> sion was recommending standards for unique deeper lots that they considered be- <br />
