Douglas Pardo
November 13, 1997
Page Two of Two

I have based this decision on the fact that a listed two-hour fire-protected tank is being used. Based on that
fact and with the stipulations set forth herein, I feel that this variance can be granted without jeopardizing
public safety. I am, however, concerned about the affect any screening around the tank might have on the
fire department's ability to apply water streams to the tank should that become necessary. In order to
ensure that the fire department has adequate access to the tank, I must require that necessary access be
provided to the satisfaction of the Roseville Fire Marshal.

Please be advised that final approval of this variance request is subject to a complete plan review and a
final inspection of the tank and dispenser installation by this office. Please notify this office within 30 days
as to when the tank is anticipated to be installed.

Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions regarding this
decision, please contact Deputy State Fire Marshal Cary Smith at 612-215-0513.

Sincerely,

~/L~
~::: R.
