<br />December 15, 1997. Minnesota Real Estate Journal reports that Everest sold portions <br />of its development site along County Road "C" at 1-35W for $4.65 million. County <br />property records at the time indicated the county valuation at $2.38 million. The City <br />Council, by terms of the development agreement with Everest previously had to <br />approve this change of ownership and did so easily and without comment (or bias). <br />Everest had previously claimed that the project was overvalued and over taxed. <br /> <br />December 15, 1997. In the accompanying letter, Tim Nelson stated <br />that "we submit this application with no real expectation that it will be considered and <br />processed fairly and without bias. We neverthelss submit the application in good faith <br />with a solid planning rationaL..", <br /> <br />December 23, 1997. Linda Owen article in Pioneer Press in which George Ludeke <br />states that if the city is not reasonable and allows an office development, "We'd <br />probably go to court...They'd be depriving us of the use of our property". No mention is <br />made of the upgrade given to Everest as part of the 1994 comprehensive plan process, <br />or the Everest contention upon being invited, was that the planning process at the <br />Hamline and B corner would have no consequnce and therefore Everest would not <br />participate. <br /> <br />January 2, 1998.
