this tall facility from across Victoria. I believe this would
present quite a visual interruption in what is now a beautiful
tree line, with a church to the side. Having worked with the St.
Paul City Council in making plans for a new clinic building in
the downtown St. Paul area, I am aware of the importance of
maintaining visual consistency with neighboring buildings and
anything else that meets the eye, and I don't believe this
building would fit harmoniously with its surroundings from either
the lake side or the Victoria Street side.

I certainly enjoy living close to seniors, and think that
Roseville has done a great job in accommodating seniors, so that
is not an issue for me. However, Roseville as a city certainly
has not been slack in providing senior living opportunities, and
as a result, I would venture to say that the concentration of
seniors in our community is higher than in most. So I don't
believe we have to act out of guilt in not having done our part
for senior housing.

So, in summary, as one of Prince of Peace's neighbors, I do not
support their proposal for a new senior housing facility because
it seems incongruous with the parkland surroundings, and because
the added volume of people and traffic would overwhelm this
already-too-busy section of Roseville. I trust that the Planning
Commission will act to protect the safety and wellbeing of its
current residents, and continue to promote the beauty of the
city.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely, ,

~ ~~.. n'
~r

Dwenda Gjerdingen

doc:prince2

~ ~th~
Pc;. , lJ {u.... ~ i+'-.~
~~ ~~~
