City of Roseville
Project No. CMXX-99-0290
June 3, 1999
Page 8

closed status of the four LUST facilities, it appears unlikely that groundwater contamination
associated with these LUST facilities would have an adverse impact on the groundwater quality
beneath the Site. The remaining two LUST facilities have not been closed by the MPCA:

. Clark Service Station #785, 2154 North Lexington; located approximately 100 feet
northeast of the Site. Date leak (Leak #8898) reported: October, 26, 1995. Site closure
date: not given.

. SuperAmerica #4210,2172 Lexington Avenue; located approximately 250 feet
northeast of the Site. Date leak (Leak #3591) reported: November 21, 1990. Site
closure date: not given.

Braun Intertec contacted Mr. Jim McCann, MPCA project manager, regarding the current LUST
status of the above two facilities. Mr. McCann stated that both of the facilities are still active.
Quarterly groundwater monitoring reports were recently submitted for the Clark Service Station
property and groundwater monitoring wells are present at the SuperAmerica property.

Based on the comments ITom the MPCA and the location of the two LUST facilities in relation to the
Site, the potential exists that groundwater contamination associated with these two LUST facilities
may have an adverse impact on the groundwater beneath the Site.

According to the VISTA report, two UST facilities were listed within 1/8 mile of the Site. A
UST/ AST facility indicates that an underground or aboveground storage tank(s) is registered at that
location and does not imply that a release has occurred at the UST/ AST facility. Please refer to
Appendix C for a complete listing of the UST facilities.

C.3. Local Government Information
Braun lntertec received comments from Mr. Dennis Welsch, Roseville community development
director, for information pertaining to the Site.

Mr. Welsch indicated that the Site was previously occupied by the Lexington School. Mr. Welsch
was not aware of releases of hazardous substances or petroleum products at the Site. He indicated
that underground fuel-oil tanks were located at the Site, but he was unaware of the size, content, or
date ofremoval for the tanks. Mr. Welsch indicated that sewer and water utility stubs are available
at the Site boundary. Mr. Welsch was not aware of water weBs, groundwater monitoring weBs, or
septic systems located at the Site.
