Business Retention and Development Programs: <br /> <br />Redevelopment strategies are only effective if the current business climate is strong. <br />Therefore, focusing on retaining and expanding Roseville's business base is key to the <br />long-term success of the City. Roseville's current retail sector is currently strong with <br />the presence of a regional shopping center. The manufacturing and high technology <br />sectors should be expanded to support Roseville's goals for quality employment. The <br />business retention and development strategies focus on these sectors. <br /> <br />. Continue to actively communicate with the 150 key businesses in Roseville through <br />the Business Link Program, which includes one-on-one visits, monthly faxed <br />newsletter and quarterly business luncheons. <br /> <br />III Attract and retain businesses that provide quality jobs with minimal outside <br />storage requirements and process or manufacture their products in an <br />environmentally sensitive manner in the following industry sectors: <br /> <br />Medical - pharmaceutical and biomedical <br />Printing <br />Light Manufacturing <br />High Technology - Computer & Telecommunication <br />Environmental Technology and Services <br />General Office <br /> <br />. Provide low-interest loans to businesses for building expansion, land and building <br />purchase or equipment in conjunction with County and State funding. <br /> <br />. Assist local businesses expand their markets internationally through the marketing <br />and enhancement of Roseville's Trade Program. <br /> <br />. Assist businesses attract and retain quality employees through ongoing training <br />programs provided locally and regionally. <br /> <br />. Develop stronger relationships between local high schools, colleges and the <br />business community. <br /> <br />.
