CITY OF MAPLE GROVE
. July 20,1999

A Rainbow Foods and Target were recently developed adjacent to land guided for future
residential use. The rear setback is 175 feet and is heavily wooded. Also, the rear delivery area
is at a lower elevation than the adjacent residential property, thus a 15-20 foot high retaining wall
serves as an additional buffer.

CITY OF MINNETONKA
Tom Goodrum
July 26, 1999

The city generally keeps commercial districts away from residential areas. Two examples of
where intensive commercial uses are adjacent to residential area are Ridgehaven Mall and the 7-
hi shopping center. While the 7-Hi shopping center located in the city's B-2 district is not
immediately adjacent to a residential area, the center is separated from a high density residential
by a large wetland. Both of these locations are discussed in more detail in the Selected Sites and
Photo Survey sections of this report.

.

.

Roseville Shopping Center District Study

Phase I Report

Page 27
