Boundary Discussion: Dennis Welsch presented a summary of comments from Peggy Egli,
Don Anderson, Pat Johnson.

Pat Johnson asked that the Parkview Condos and the Media One site be included in the
planning area. A letter could be sent explaining the differences.

Craig Klausing described the differences between a Comprehensive Plan Planning District
amendment and a long term planning area He suggested focusing on the areas where
active development could occur with a look at long term planning later.

Joseph Smith explained that the size of the existing City Center (small) has created
confusion and the conclusion by the public that more land would be needed and acquired.

Scott Berg noted that the communications have been misconstrued; should remain
consistent with May 20 discussion of boundary. If a letter was sent, it could confuse future
decisions.

Perrie Heitler agreed regarding communications, especially concerning condos. Howard
Johnson should remain in the planning area because it could be enhanced - a benefit to the
neighborhood

Jan Vanderwall suggested that in the future, the Task Force should discuss a planning area
and a specific work area within it.

Craig Klausing asked what the Planning Commission would be asked to do with the original
proposal. !fto table, there was no real concern because additional planning must take place.

Kim Way suggested the Task Force define "what it is" before going back to the Planning
Commission.

\'~C\
"
