<br />D. Woodland Preservation Policy and Credit: Credit for the retention of existing <br />trees which are of acceptable species, size and location may be giyen to satisfy the <br />minimum number requirements set forth in this Chapter. <br /> <br />E. JP ARKlING Lot Landscaping: <br />1. Amount of Landscaping Required: PAJRJKIING lots of fifty (50) or more spaces <br />are required to have one hundred fifty (150) square feet oflandscaped islands per twenty <br />five (25) JP ARKIING spaces. One overstory or evergreen tree is required for every one <br />hundred fifty (150) square feet of interior landscaped area. The minimum width of <br />landscape islands is six feet (6') and the minimum area is one hundred fifty (150) square <br />feet. <br /> <br />2. Trees Required: One ornamental, overstory or evergreen tree is required for every <br />fifty feet (50') ofPAR1K1ING lot frontage. <br /> <br />3. Front Yard Setbacks: Front yard setbacks shall have a screen that is eighty percent <br />(80%) opaque and a height of two and one-half feet (2 1/2'). The screen may be: <br />a. Plant materials; <br />b. Wood, concrete, masonry or ornamental iron; or <br />c. A combination of these materials. <br />4. Plant Size: Plant size requirements for landscaping areas shall be as follows: <br />a. Deciduous trees shall be at least two and one-half inches (2 1/2") in diameter as <br />measured four feet (4') from the base at the time of planting. <br />b. Ornamental trees shall be a minimum oftwo and one-half inches (2 1/2") in <br />diameter as measured four feet (4') trom the base. <br />c. Evergreen trees must have a minimum height of six feet (6'). <br />d. Evergreen shrubs used for screening purposes shall be at least three feet (3') in <br />height at planting. Eyergreen shrubs will have a minimum spread of twenty four inches <br />(24"). <br />e. Potted shrubs shall be in a five (5) gallon pot or larger. <br /> <br />5. Areas Other Than Building And/Or Hardstand: All areas of land other than that <br />occupied by building and/or hardstand (PAR..TIGNG areas and driveways) shall be <br />landscaped with sod and/or mulch and/or rock material in planting beds where <br />appropriate. <br /> <br />6. Completion; Bond: Landscape plan and screening plantings shall be completed <br />within one year from the date of building permit. A bond shall be provided or a letter of <br />credit deposited in an amount equal to one and one-half (1 1/2) times the estimated cost <br />of landscape planting and construction of any required screening. Such bond or letter of <br />credit shall be forfeited or portions thereof, to maintain and/or replace landscaping <br />material or screening for a period of time to include at least two (2) growing seasons. -- <br />Portions of the bond may be released after one growing season as determined by the City <br />Manager or the City Manager's designee.
