Create new professional opportunities for teachers including the opportunity to be <br />responsible for the learning program at the school site: <br /> <br />@ Teachers will impartially and effectively instruct students toward achieving <br />their academic goals. <br /> <br />i) Teachers will emphasize high academic standards, focusing on diverse and <br />cultural reading materials, exposure to creative arts, innovative technology <br />and a focus on community involvement. <br /> <br />I) Teachers and students will be held accountable by accepting responsibility for <br />their actions. <br /> <br />,. Teachers will work closely with parents to educate the students to lead better <br />lives. <br /> <br />. Teachers will educate the commlmitv about the needs of children and <br />families. Teachers will educate the Staff and board members and have the <br />ability to work with policy makers. <br /> <br />. Teachers will participate in diversity training and curriculum development for <br />multi-age classroom and inclusive classrooms. <br /> <br />. Teachers will network and develop parmerships with other agencies, <br />governmental units, training institutions and the communit),. <br /> <br />II. . Governance <br /> <br />A. Identify the proposed date for the election of the Board of Directors. <br /> <br />. Family Academy intends to elect its Board of Directors by May 15, 2000, to sern: .1 <br />twO (2) year term. It is anticipated that the Board will consist of 10 members, with <br />the majority being licensed teachers.
