Any classroom with students <br />that have special needs will have a paraprofessional in the classroom whether <br />the individual educational plan(IEP) requires one or not. <br /> <br />3. We have grouped grades into five groupings: Kindergarten, 1S[ and 2nd, 3rd <br />and 4th, 5th and 6th, and rand Sth. Within each of these groups you will find <br />grade-by-grade outlines of specific curriculwn goals each student will be <br />expected to achieve before moving on to the next grade level of material. <br /> <br />4. The children will use a variety of media to learn each subject. This will <br />include videos, video taping, computers, Internet access, commlUlity <br />resources, field trips, etc. Our goal is to have all types of learners have the <br />media available to best reinforce what they have learned and need to learn in <br />order to be a competent individual. <br /> <br />5. Family Academy will provide special education services in compliance witb <br />the required state and federal rules. We will work with Clarissa Hirsch of <br />District 623 for assistance in developing a system that meets the special needs <br />of our student population. <br /> <br />Family Academy aims at serving both typical and non-typical students. The <br />staff will be trained and provide qualified instructional techniques aimed at <br />the individual students and his or her abilitv to learn. Contracts \vill be <br />J <br /> <br />established for specific special education requirements that exceed Family <br />Academy's staffs ability to provide. <br /> <br />C. Special Education <br /> <br />Family Academy will provide special education services in compliance with all state <br />and federal mandates. Appropriate monies shall follow the student to the school. <br />We will work with ISD #916, staff, the student and their family, to develop a <br />system that meets the needs of each particular student, as well as the student <br />population. <br /> <br />The design of the students instructional program mandates an individual learning <br />plan (ILP) for each student. The personalized nature of an ILP is similar to an IEP <br />that any identified special education student will have.
